WHAT DOES THE APPLICATION PROCESS LOOK LIKE?

Candidates submit their written application including test scores, transcripts, essays and letters of recommendation like most other schools. After submitting your application and payment, you will be able to access the video essay through your application status page. You will be asked to answer three questions:

Video essay 1: Please introduce yourself to the admissions committee.
Video essay 2: What path are you interested in pursuing, how will you get there, and why is this program right for you?
Video essay 3: Each of you will receive a randomly selected prompt, all of which have the same objective. They want you to show them how you handled a challenging situation in your career or personal life. For example, they might ask you to tell them about a time you failed to achieve a goal you had set for yourself.

Once you submit the video essay, your application is complete. It then goes through a thorough review process by admissions staff. After the review, the selected candidates are invited for the interview. 

WHAT IS THE ACCEPTANCE RATE FOR KELLOGG MBA?

The acceptance rate for Kellogg is 20%.

WHAT IS THE AVERAGE GMAT SCORE FOR ADMISSION TO KELLOGG’S MBA PROGRAM?

The average GMAT score for the incoming class at Kellogg is 730. The GMAT range is 620 to 780.

WHAT IS THE AVERAGE GRE SCORE FOR ADMISSION TO KELLOGG’S MBA PROGRAM?

Kellogg does not publish an average GRE score for its incoming class, but does accept the GRE for admissions.

Essay(s): Sometimes candidates overthink the essays. These are not trick questions, there is no hidden meaning, and certainly no ‘right’ answer. The best response is the one that is authentic to you! Before starting to write the essays, it is essential to understand the gaps in your profile that a B-school will help you fill, and have clarity on why you want to go for a certain B-school. Get familiar with the core values and culture of the school and try to see how you can fit in well. 

Interview: MBA interviews are primarily conducted by alumni. Among other things, they are assessing your fit with their culture and defining principles. Applicants who can articulate why they are specifically interested in a B-school and how it’s culture appeals to them will be best prepared.  Interviews are conducted blindly, meaning the only thing your alumni interviewer knows about you is what is on the resume you submitted to Kellogg.

Letter(s) of recommendation: The purpose of LOR is to provide a strong premise to your essays. Do choose recommenders who can share specific examples about your background, achievements, contribution and impact to the organization. Don’t choose recommenders based purely on title.

CV/résumé: The résumé is often the first document that admissions officers review. It provides a snapshot of your candidacy in one page. Take the time to clearly articulate your accomplishments, highlighting the skills or experiences that are most relevant for business school.

KELLOGG WAIVED OFF GMAT AND GRE

We’re surviving an interesting crossroads in history as the entire world thinks about the COVID-19 episode. Business colleges are adjusting to address the present difficulties confronting many Round 3 candidates. However, one world class school has gone past some other up to this point. A declaration came out that the Kellogg School waived off GMAT and GRE for candidates applying in Round 3. In sharing this remarkable choice, Kate Smith, Assistant Dean of Admissions and Financial Aid, stated, “Your goals matter. Nothing about the disruption you are experiencing should hold you back. So we’re removing what you and your future classmates have identified as a potential barrier to finalising your applications in time for the extended deadlines.”

While online alternatives for the GMAT and GRE have or will before long become accessible, Smith says Kellogg understands that such delivery methods do not accommodate everyone. They also potentially present new challenges of studying in a crunched timeline, she included. If you already have a test score and feel it will strengthen your application, you may send it in. Kellogg will also continue to accept scores from GMAC and ETS’s online testing alternatives.

Candidates should take note that the Kellogg School will postpone the GMAT/GRE necessity explicitly for this exceptional second in time. It’s anything but a marker for future confirmations cycles. Likewise, Kellogg’s different affirmations gauges and measures have not changed.
